For Formerly Incarcerated Persons

Theater for Humanity aims to provide formerly incarcerated persons the opportunity to share their stories of incarceration with police officers so that they can return home with the support of the officers who took away their freedom.

For many who have a record of prior arrests and convictions, despite leaving prison, their incarceration never ends.

A Perpetually Policed Population

Formerly incarcerated persons are constantly under the surveillence of police officers who view them the same way that our society does: as criminals, forever.

Holistic

The program also addresses the financial, mental health and housing needs of formerly incarcerated persons along with the trauma that they experienced during and prior to incarceration.

Reentry

A community that accepts and values formerly incarcerated persons is required for successful reentry.
